  What is ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor (CKM) Program?

ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor (CKM) Program is for individuals who are trainers, who impart skills and knowledge for professional growth to anyone interested. Instructors who are interested in teaching ICCKE referenceware can earn ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor (CKM) designation. CKM program equip you with all the training resources that are required to deliver ICCKE course successfully.

  How do you assure quality of mentors?

We at ICCKE value our mentors who teach ICCKE courses and we will provide the training and resources necessary on our dedicated trainer’s portal to keep them up-to-date. Periodically, trainer initiatives are offered online to instructors and they are regularly kept updated on developments in their domain of interest.

  How are applicants screened and tested?

Usually, ICCKE KTA partners nominate their members to become a CKM. If you are an independent instructor, you can reach us directly by writing to us at mentor ‘at’ iccke.org or using our contact form. All our ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor applicants are screened carefully and tested before being accepted into the program.

  What are the continuing certification requirements?

Upon qualifying as an ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor, the certification will remain valid, with the exception of a breach or termination of the Certification Agreement, for as long as the courses the mentor teaches remain current.

  How does ICCKE audit a Mentor’s Performance? 

ICCKE reserves the right to audit a mentor any time. The audit may be a routine quality-assurance audit, or it may be precipitated by student complaints or failure by a mentor to meet or maintain certification requirements.

  Does ICCKE place mentors on probation or suspend instructor status? 

Mentor probation policy helps ensure student satisfaction and instructional quality. The policy is not meant to discourage or threaten mentors. Instead, the intent is to establish formal standards of instruction and to encourage adherence to these standards. We do not suspend mentors unless a transgression is proved and the mentor given an opportunity to witness for themselves.

  Under what circumstances is a CKM placed on probation? 

Reasons for probation may include:

  • Consistent negative student evaluations or feedback
  • Discussing the ICCKE program and/or ICCKE Official Curriculum in a negative manner
  • ICCKE KTA Partner complaint(s)
  • Teaching an authorized ICCKE course for which you are not qualified
  • Signing course certificates for another mentor
  • Cheating on ICCKE exams
  • Violating contractual agreement(s)
  • Poor performance during an audit

Certification Agreement does not prohibit mentors from teaching non ICCKE courses. However, the mentor may not use ICCKE mentor logos with such courses nor may the mentor represent himself or herself as an ICCKE Certified Knowledge Mentor while on probation.

  How is mentor probation affected? 

In the case of a pending probation, the following steps will be in effect.

  • Any wrongdoing will be verified; evidence will be reviewed with the appropriate parties before any action is taken.
  • The probation period will be at least three months, and is subject to extension at the ICCKE discretion
  • The mentor will be notified via registered mail with itemized reasons for the probation
  • During probation, the mentor cannot become certified for any new courses.
  • The mentor will receive recommendations for improvement
  • At the end of the probation period, a follow-up audit may be conducted and a determination made regarding the status of the mentor
  • If improvement is unsatisfactory, the mentor may be decertified and notified via registered mail
